JULIE PEEL

Mercer County Recorder

FEE CHANGE NOTICE; Beginning January 1, 2025

Ohio Senate Bill 94 was passed into law & became effective on October 24, 2024. The bill allows the County Recorder to charge & collect a document preservation surcharge of up to five dollars per document. See ORC Sec. 317.32.

Beginning January 1, 2025, the Mercer County Recorder’s office will begin collecting an additional recording fee of $5.00 per document. This fee will help support the ongoing costs of preservation of the office & continued digitization of documents.

The additional $5.00 fee will be applied to documents with a current recording fee of $34.00 for the first two pages & $8.00 for each subsequent page.

The new fee will not apply to documents assigned “unique” recording fees per the Ohio Revised Code such as: Federal Tax Liens, Ohio Department of Job & Family Services Liens, Plats, Township Zoning Code documents, UCC’s, etc.
