Ag Leaders Program

The Mercer Soil & Water Conservation District, Wright State University - Lake Campus, Mercer County Farm Bureau, and the USDA Farm Service Agency, Mercer County have teamed up to offer an innovative program designed to promote agriculture through leadership development.  This collaborative partnership will begin our 3rd Leadership class in November.

Our leadership program focuses on important topics that agriculture producers and professionals face each day.  Topics include working with employees, expanding your operations, planning for future generations, and working with your company finances.  We hope to increase the awareness of agricultural trends, public policy, and emerging agricultural issues.  In addition, the program aims to develop networks of agriculture leaders in the Grand Lake area to facilitate continued viability and growth of the agriculture industry in our area.

The program is only $100 for participants.  This cost includes most expenses incurred during your participation.  Meeting locations and tours will primarily focus on the Grand Lake area but will involve trips to Columbus and St. Louis.  The generous sponsorship of local and state agricultural businesses and organizations are making this program available at such a low cost.
